"Does it hurt?" If that question is on your mind before a first appointment, here's the answer straight away: no, well-done lash extensions don't hurt and don't damage your natural lashes. The longer answer, meaning what you actually feel on the bed, what's normal and what should raise a red flag, is below.
Why don't lash extensions hurt?
Because in a proper appointment nothing touches your skin. I attach every extension strictly to a natural lash, never to the eyelid. Your eyes stay closed the whole time, and your lower lashes are protected by a soft pad. There are no needles and no pulling, just tweezers and a lot of patience.
What do you actually feel?
Mostly, not much. You lie comfortably on a memory-foam bed, eyes closed, while I work lash by lash. Some clients feel a gentle warmth as the adhesive cures, especially with the LED lamp. That's normal and passes in a moment. A good share of people simply fall asleep halfway through the set, and I consider that the best review a treatment can get.
When should you speak up?
Burning, stinging or heavy tearing during the appointment isn't something you need to bravely sit through. You can just tell me the moment it starts. The cause is usually mundane, for example the under-eye pad shifted a millimetre and is irritating the eye. I adjust it and the discomfort is gone. There is no "just hang on a little longer" in my chair, because discomfort is information for me, not a price you pay for pretty lashes.
What does the first time look like?
Calm and unhurried. We start with a consultation where I look at your natural lashes and we talk through the effect, and only then do you lie down. Everything worth knowing before your first visit, from preparation to the first hours of aftercare, is collected in a separate guide.
What about pregnancy and allergies?
Pregnancy is not a contraindication. Hormones can affect tearing, eyelid puffiness and retention, so simply tell me about it when you book and I'll adjust my approach. An adhesive allergy is a different story: the reaction is rare, but once triggered it stays for good. Do extensions damage natural lashes?
No, not when they're done thoughtfully. Damaged lashes after a set are almost always the result of one of two things: fans that were too heavy for weak lashes, or a set ripped off at home. That's why I always match the weight and thickness to the condition of your natural lashes, and we go through the differences between classic, volume and mega at the consultation. It's also why I sometimes say no: if your lashes are weakened, I won't do mega volume 4D–5D, even if you really want it. I'll suggest a lighter method, because I'd rather you still have healthy lashes to work with a year from now.

Can I open my eyes or blink during the appointment?
Your eyes stay closed for the whole treatment, and that's the best protection against irritation, because adhesive fumes can sting an open eye. If you need a break, just say so and we'll pause. Blinking with closed lids doesn't get in my way at all.
Can I cry during the appointment, e.g. with watery eyes?
Tears are moisture and salt, and the adhesive dislikes both. A heavily watering eye is a signal to pause, not to sit through: usually the pad is to blame, I adjust it and we carry on. If your eyes water by nature, tell me before we start.
Does having a set removed hurt?
No, because nothing gets torn off. A cream remover dissolves the adhesive and the extensions come away on their own, with no pulling or tugging. Removal costs 60 PLN, and it's a far better idea than peeling a set off at home, which leaves your own lashes pulled out with it.
Do lashes need a break between sets?
With properly matched weight there are no mandatory breaks, because natural lashes renew in their own cycle all the time. I check the condition of your lashes at the start of every set, and if I ever think they'd benefit from a rest, you'll hear it from me first.
